Multimeda Journalism
Two weeks ago, when I was observing crafters “in the wild”, I was talking with one of the girls about all of the changes that are happening in the media. I realized that when I actually had to sit down and talk about this with someone who isn’t in the field, it’s really difficult for me to articulate what direction that Journalism is going in (which really freaks me out because I’m graduating in May and I’m basically talking in circles when people ask me what I’m going to be doing when I’m done with school).
At the same time though, it’s kinda nice to be able to have so many options in what I want to do with journalism. Long gone are the days when someone worked only as a reporter. Now we can take pictures, code blogs, shoot video - all on a phone no less. Even though I really have no idea where I’m going right now, it’s at least nice to know that I’ll have plenty of options.
